Staff Software Validation Engineer

Position OverviewAs a Software Validation Engineer on the BMS Software team, you will be supporting development, testing, and release of new BMS software builds for Proterra s existing and upcoming battery products.
About the Role You will:
Work closely with the controls, electronics, and cell development teams as well as other critical stakeholders to develop test cases to ensure software functionality meets the BMS software requirementsResponsible for executing tests of the BMS software functionality on individual packs, multi-pack systems, unique test setups, and a future HIL test benchIdentify the need for, develop, and maintain automated scripts to efficiently execute test cases and build out existing regression test suite.
Work with the larger test team to build and maintain test setups including but not limited to battery cyclers, data logging tools, and fault injection setups.
Review validation test results and work to identify and clearly document unexpected behavior or failed test cases including software bugs.
Work with the controls engineering team to understand software behavior and resolve test failures in a timely manner.
Create validation reports including a summary of outcomes, detailed test results, and critical KPIsClearly communicate ongoing validation status to all stakeholdersSupport field issue resolution by recreating failures and working with stakeholders to help root cause and resolve software and system problems.

You will report to the Manager of Battery Software and collaborate with other engineering team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA, manufacturing facility in Greer, SC, and other remote sites.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
